Georgie Lavan Psychology now offers adult ADHD assessments via telehealth, providing accessible support for individuals seeking diagnosis and care across Australia. This service is delivered as a comprehensive package, designed to help address the high cost and extended wait times often associated with ADHD assessments.
All assessments are conducted using evidence-based tools and industry-accepted measures, supported by extensive professional training. Further details of what is included in the assessment package are outlined below.
ADHD Package
Initial Assessment (90 minutes):
We explore your background, current challenges, and goals to build a clear clinical picture.
Diagnostic Assessment (50+ minutes):
We assess ADHD traits in depth and examine how they affect your daily life—both now and historically.
Feedback Session (50+ minutes):
We walk you through your results, explain what they mean, and discuss next steps tailored to you.
Written Report:
You receive a detailed clinical report. With your consent, we can also share it with your GP, psychiatrist, or other healthcare providers.
Pre-screening Questionnaires
It is helpful for your psychologist to gain an understanding of how you are managing daily life prior to your initial appointment. To support this, you will be asked to complete a series of pre-screening questionnaires before your first session.
Please ensure that all assessments are completed prior to your initial appointment, as this information is essential for providing you with the most appropriate care.
Support from a Loved One
Additional insights from a loved one can clarify your ADHD symptoms. Ideally, this would be someone who has known you since childhood, as they may be able to provide valuable information regarding early developmental traits and behaviours, as well as observations you may not personally recognise.
This information can support a more comprehensive history-taking and assessment process. While not mandatory, you are welcome to involve a loved one if you feel it would be beneficial. They may participate in pre-screening questionnaires and sessions, or attend as a support person for general emotional support, regardless of their involvement in the assessment content.
Please note that their attendance will require your consent prior to the session.
Additional Therapeutic Support
For some clients, ongoing therapeutic support following a new diagnosis may be beneficial. This can assist with developing coping strategies, improving executive functioning skills, and providing further education and understanding of ADHD.
If you choose to continue with additional support, sessions are charged at the standard sessions rate of $240 for a 50-minute appointment. A Mental Health Care Plan may be obtained through your GP, which can provide Medicare rebates ($98.95 per session) for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Private health insurance may also contribute towards session costs, depending on your level of cover. We recommend discussing rebate eligibility directly with your healthcare provider.

Medication
For some clients, an ADHD assessment may be undertaken with consideration of whether medication could be beneficial as part of treatment. Please note that psychologists are not authorised to prescribe medication. If medication is part of your treatment goals, a referral to a psychiatrist will be required, and support can be provided to help you identify appropriate referral options as part of your next steps.
Medicare Rebates
Please note that psychometric assessments and associated reports are not covered under the Medicare Mental Health Care Plan rebate scheme.
Costs
The cost of the Adult ADHD Assessment Package is $1,250 + GST. This fee includes all assessment appointments, pre-screening and assessment tools, and the final written report.
To secure your assessment, a $400 prepayment is required to confirm your booking.
Cancellations
A 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all appointments within the assessment package. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment will incur a $400 cancellation fee.
